2.2.1.3 Object bounds

The bounds of an object is the smallest bounding rectangle of the object, expressed in document coordinates (see Coordinate system).

Function: object-bounds objects...

Returns the world coordinate bounding box containing all of the objects passed as arguments, or ‘#f’ if none of the objects have bounds (for example, this can occur if no objects are specified, or if they are all empty component objects).

Note: object-bounds always returns the actual bounds of the objects, not the visible bounds. This means that the bounds of invisible text is always included.

Function: fold-bounds bounds...

Calculates the union of several sets of bounds (as returned by object-bounds). If any of the bounds are ‘#f’, they are skipped; if all of the bounds are ‘#f’, ‘#f’ is returned.
